Make an heirloom-style star quilt without piecing a single diamond. This William Morris Pimpernel lone star cheater quilt fabric prints a lone star layout in the Petal Grove colorway — soft blue, sage green and peach with Pimpernel tulips and tonal blenders — as one continuous quilt top.

This listing is the printed quilt top fabric only. Batting, backing and binding are not included. Coordinating fabrics for backing and binding are sold separately in our shop; batting is available at any quilt or craft store.

Quick answers

What size quilt does it make? One yard is about 36 × 42 in, a baby quilt. Two yards give about 42 × 72 in for a lap throw.

Do I need to piece it? No. The lone star layout is printed, so you skip the hardest piecing in quilting.

Prewash before cutting, especially if you’re mixing it with other fabrics. Expect about 2–3% shrinkage in length and 4–5% in width.

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. No bleach.

Tumble dry low or line dry.

Iron on the cotton setting, on the reverse side.

For a finished quilt, add a color catcher to the first wash.
